When we first sat down with Alex to talk about her wedding day, one of the things that struck us was how she would light up talking about Tyler. And as she shared the story of how he surprised her with a proposal on their favorite holiday of Halloween, planning each detail (they were zombie Bride and her Groom!), I could tell that she lit up because he loved her so well. Meeting him this weekend at their engagement I could see that love shining through every time he smiled at her.
I love engagement sessions. There is something about seeing two people just enjoying being together, dressed in their best, dreaming of their future, that always pulls me right in. There is this moment, where they forget the camera and the smiles relax and he will pull her in a little closer and her hand will linger on the back of his neck and together they get lost in each other. I live for those moments and Alex and Tyler’s session was full of them, especially as the sun broke through the blanket of clouds and illuminated the end of our time together with the most delicious light.
We had previously rescheduled their session from earlier in the month thanks to a late season monsoon, so we were a little sad when Friday greeted us with a overcast sky. I was hopeful we’d get at least a few rays of sun and our Arizona sunset did not let us down. Alex and Tyler, you two are truly amazing together and we can’t wait for your wedding day. I know it is going to be just lovely.
