Almost 5 years ago, I photographed one of my first weddings, Demi was in that wedding and we are so honored when she contacted us about photographing her 2017 wedding. I love when we get to see and work with people we have photographed in the past. It is always a celebration to hear about all the good things that have happened since we last saw each other!
Demi and Ryan were sharing with us the story of how he proposed and I loved that Demi had no idea, even though he asked to take her on a hike in Sedona and he hates hiking. She even tried to invite her dad to join them, but fortunately he was in on the plan and declined! He took her to West Fork Trail in Sedona, which is one of the most beautiful hikes in the area. They hiked to an area with an overlook and beautiful views where Ryan proposed with one of the most beautiful rings I have ever seen! We returned to the trail for their session and spent our time together exploring the early part of trail together, my favorite was the vine covered remains of an old homestead! It created a romantic backdrop that perfectly captured the love these two share!
At the end of the evening, we thought we’d try to capture some of iconic Sedona redrocks at sunset. The rest of the visiting population of Sedona had the same idea and we found our selves in traffic that was at a complete standstill. Jon spotted a pull out so we hopped out and used the side of the road and even took some posing suggestions from passerby’s shouting out to give each other a kiss! I knew we spent a lot of our session laughing together, but as I look through these images, I found myself grinning again, because their enjoyment of each other is just contagious!
We are so excited for their fall wedding at the Windmill Winery! Demi and Ryan, thank you for an amazing session this weekend!
xoxo,
