Jessica and Abdul [Downtown Tucson Wedding at the Historic Stillwell House]

Jessica and Abdullah were married on one of the nicest days April had to offer. Choosing April 15th for your wedding anniversary is one way to remove the sting out of tax day, right? The weather was spectacular and we were gifted a golden glowing sunset for our evening portraits.

Aside from the gorgeous day, they most standout impression from their day, was the incredible group of people that call them friends. Toast after toast were stories of the kind of friendship that Jessica and Abdul brought to their circle of friends, treating them like family. There were stories of making sure people were brought in to their group of friends and surrounded them with people that cared. Their love for each other reflected that same commitment to family, with beautiful vows to put each other first and seek adventure together. One of my favorite details was how Abdul wrote his vows in his native language of Farsi on their vow cards, pledging forever to his wife in two languages.

Their getting ready space was an incredible Bed and Breakfast just down the street from the venue called the Amador (which isn’t open to the public yet, but will be soon!). The drapery, the 4 post bed and antique furniture was the perfect touch of old to photograph all of Jessica’s new wedding details!

Stillwell House is a historic landmark in Downtown Tucson. With Victorian touches, a private garden and the best wedding food in town (with El Charro at the helm, you know it was going to be amazing!), this venue is one of our favorites. We took Jessica and Abdul around downtown for some portraits which is an easy walk from the venue, and allows for some urban wedding images to accompany the romantic garden feel of their ceremony. I would be remiss to not mention the amazing cake by Jaynie Rossi. Did you see that gold foil filigree? Amazing!

Mr. and Mrs. Wahid, you are a special couple and I am honored to have captured your day. I will your family all the best!

xoxo,

Amber Lea
