Madera Canyon Engagement Session | David & Samantha

This Madera Canyon Engagement session was absolutely perfect! Forest, grasslands, and mountain views all in the same location makes for the perfect spot for photos! David and Samantha drove out to meet us on one of the nicest days we had seen in April. The sky was clear and there was the slightest breeze as we hiked to find the best pockets of light. We started the session up in the trees before moving down toward the grasslands at the entrance of the canyon. By the end of our time together, we were joined by a whole herd of cattle, with the cutest little frolicking calves. We didn’t linger or get too close, because We weren’t interested in angering any mama cows, but it sure was fun to see them grazing in the fields across the road!

Samantha and David have a wonderful energy together – their friendship sets the tone for their banter and affection, making our time photographing them so much fun. You might recognize Samantha from Alex & Tyler’s wedding last March where Sam was the maid of honor. I love when we get to photograph members of our past bridal parties as we get the joy of watching them grow together and plan for their own wedding day! Plus, we usually get to catch up with past brides when the next wedding comes around!

We are really looking forward to celebrating with Samantha and David at their wedding next year. We love a traditional church wedding as the sacrament of marriage is one of the most important things to both Jon and I. Top it off with a reception at one of our favorite venues, Westin La Paloma, and we know this is going to be a party to remember!
