Matlick Family [Bear Canyon Portrait Session]

I don’t know it if is true of all wedding photographers, but a lot of us love wedding cake. As a matter of fact, we become sort of experts on wedding cake, since we often have to sample a slice at each wedding we photograph…for, you know, market research. Through extensive fieldwork (ahem), I got to become friends with Annie of Ambrosia Cakes.

I have always joked that it was a good idea to make friends with the cake bakers in the wedding industry, but in all seriousness, I am friends with Annie for more than just her excellent cake baking skills. She is kind, a good listener, has attention to detail, and the ability to bring your creative vision to life. When she asked if I would be willing to capture her family, I was honored she chose me.

These are just a few of my favorites from our time together this past weekend. Annie, your family is lovely, and I am thankful for your friendship. And your cakes. But mostly your friendship.
