Friends, our first southern wedding was filled with all the charm and elegance you’d expect to see in a city that is steeped in history and tradition. As we drove through the streets of Charlotte, along tree lined curbs that framed out Antebellum houses, I knew we were going to have an amazing day with Miranda and Jonathan. Their day was lovingly crafted with the help of their parents. Miranda and her mother designed all the aspects of the wedding, from the elegant invitations to the table decor. Jonathan’s father, who also works as a wedding florist back home in Virginia designed the wedding florals. This family affair was truly a joy to watch come together!
If you know us at all (or know Amber at all!) we love wedding that are rich in family legacy. Miranda chose to wear her mother’s veil, that her mother hand sewed and hand beaded for her own wedding. Worn by her sister Anna at her wedding, this veil has watched three women marry their beloveds. When you see Miranda’s parents together, you can see why this legacy is so meaningful. They are two people who exemplify saying “I do” in the every day.
The historic Morehead Inn in Charlotte is surrounded by lush gardens and filled with antique furniture. With a white wrap around veranda and vine clung walls, this venue was every bit as charming as it sounds. What absolutely filled our heart was seeing this whole family again (we photographed Miranda’s brother Mason and his wife Emily’s wedding two years ago!), bustling in and out of rooms, setting up center pieces and serving each other with genuine joy. Even Miranda, despite everyones efforts to pamper her, was busy serving everyone with coffee, snuggling nieces and making sure her family and friends were taken care of. Watching the way that Jonathan’s family worked creating the floral pieces for the wedding, we could see that these two families had the same heart for loving people well. Nothing makes us happier than seeing two people so well suited to each other, say “I do” to a life time together.
Mirand and Jonathan, thank you for trusting us with your day. We are honored to have shared in your wedding celebration and we look forward to seeing you two grow together. So much love to you both!
xoxo,
Amber Lea & Jon
