If I had to choose a single word to describe Christine and Ryan’s San Diego Golf Course Wedding, it would be magical. Everything about the day went better than planned. Each hitch in the day, melting away as though a fairy godmother had flicked her wand in our general direction. From a 90% chance of thunderstorms that eased into a gentle misting rain, to the family that all arrived 20 minutes early to family formals…(seriously this NEVER happens!)
We always love a beautiful ceremony. Both Christine and Ryan shared personal vows they had written. They both had moments that made us all laugh with their honesty and humor. But mostly, they caused us to tear up through their beautiful words because everyone there knew that while they were now saying “I do” to one another, the truth was, they had been saying “I do” for much longer. Christine calls Ryan her rock, but we saw how nervous he was as he got ready for their first look. We also saw how quickly that eased the moment he laid eyes on her. He might be her rock, but she is his soft place to land, and together they are exactly what the other needs.
When Christine and Ryan first shared with me their wedding plans, the name of the game was: FUN. Mission accomplished! They had a scavenger hunt for while we did portraits, (complete with prizes!) and some table games for entertainment. When we returned to the reception, we could hear the laughter from across the bridge! My favorite moment was during their first dance where they both sang the words to each other as they danced. You could feel that this wasn’t just a first dance song, it was their song. The theme of the day may have been fun, but the overall feel of the day was pure, multi-dimensional love for each other, and the people around them.
What a blessing it is to be the co-authors of a wedding story like this.
Xoxo,
