Last weekend, we road tripped up to Flagstaff for this amazing wedding held underneath the San Francisco Peaks, and coming off of a record heat wave, being up in those cooler temps made this wedding extra delightful. Nick and Sarah are one of the most laid back and joyful couples we have worked with. There were no nerves, just joyful laughter. They were married at the home of a friend of their family, under an arch decorated by the Sarah’s family. Standing along side them were siblings and childhood friends, friends from grad school and running team mates – you can tell a lot about a couple by who stands with you when you get married, and these two had years of fellowship to stand as witness to their marriage.
After the ceremony we made a stop near Lowell Observatory for photos among the pines before heading to their reception in downtown Flagstaff, that was a nod towards all their favorites from the local community: local BBQ for dinner paired with local beers (I had the Four Peaks Peach Ale and it was pretty fantastic!).
Jon and I enjoyed how effortlessly Nick and Sarah interacted with one another. They are clearly smitten with each other, but it went beyond that. They share a genuine respect and admiration for each other that was evident in how they speak to each and about each other. Even when our cameras were pointed the other direction they where there, heads together, soaking up their day and all it had to offer.
Nick and Sarah, thank you for trusting us with you day. We were truly honored to have captured the love you two share. You are beautifully suited to one another and I know that you will have a lifetime of love and adventure with each other.
xoxo,
Amber Lea (&Jon)
