Last Sunday night I set out to capture Elsa and Davian for a couple’s session. These two have been together for 4 years and have known each other for at least 10 years longer than that. When I walked up to our meeting spot at the Old Maine building on the University of Arizona campus, there was an electric energy between the two of them that had them both grinning from ear to ear. As I leaned in to greet them with a hug, Elsa’s hand shot out and I saw the most beautiful ring on her left hand! Davian had brought Elsa early to the session and took her to a bench outside the old Chemistry building where they met 14 years ago and asked her to be his wife! It was perfect.
Planning a head, Davian brought along a photo, from waaaaaaay back when they were just friends, of Elsa giving him a kiss at a party. I love that they have that moment saved forever on film and wanted to capture that memento from the beginning of their friendship on the day that they planned to become husband and wife!
The weather was so lovely, and you could even feel the fall temps that have fighting to make their way to our Arizona desert! The campus was pretty quiet so we were able to enjoy their favorite spots without interruptions. There was much laughter and so many tender, quiet moments and I was so blessed to be able to share these first few hours with them as they planned their forever together. Thank you Elsa and Davian for spending last weekend with me. I am thrilled to be capturing your wedding next year! I know it will be filled with so much joy and laughter!
